Training in Wicca
Wiccan Training is available through the Wiccan Federation backed course, the 13 Knots. This offers face-to-face training in London and Zoom based training in the rest of the UK. This is a three year course in Wicca & Witchcraft.
Year One: The Thirteen Knots
The training commences with an introduction to the course. This is followed by three knots or lessons that are available on Zoom. These three knots are available to anyone with an interest in Wicca. They deal with the four elements, the precession of the equinoxes and the Grail legends.
In order to proceed to Knot 4-9, which cover astrology, astronomy and the history and practice of Wicca, students are required to attend a coven of the Wiccan Federation and become Full Members of the Federation. Members joining the course will be offered the opportunity to take the White Cord of the the Novitiate. This must be taken prior to Knot 9 of the course if the student wishes to continue to Knots 10-13. Knot 13 is a Red Cord initiation into your coven and this is required to continue to Year Two of the training.
Year Two: Coven Based Post Initiatory Training
Year two training is coven based. Unlike the 13 Knots, which are taken in order, the second year training consists of thirteen sessions that can be completed in any order. This training covers the skills required to perform Wiccan rituals and magical practice and a detailed explantion of the grail legends and their relation to the sacrament of Wicca. These sessions are generally completed in person at events that are held locally or on Dartmoor. This training is expected to be completed in a year. If the training cannot be delivered in person due to lack of trainined local teachers some will be delivered on Zoom. At the end of the course the students will be offered the oppotunity to take part in a Black Cord rite to mark the completion of coven training.
Year Three: Advanced Training in Ashdown Forest
Year three training takes place in Ashdown Forest. It is in person only and requires attendance at all sessions although these need not be completed consecutively. The training consists of a series of 13 sessions studying the lineaged practices of our network. This practice has its own rites and after the training is completed there is an initiation into the lineaged practice of the Old Faith.
