UK City Groups and Covens
The Wiccan Federation
The purpose of the Wiccan Federation is to facilitate the active practice of Wicca and to provide training. The Federation has a significant network of city based groups around the UK. The covens that are part of this network typically work within these city groups . Our definition of Wicca is that people self define as Wiccans and accept the Wiccan Rede, ‘an it harm none do thy will’
Our specific goals in relation to the local groups are as follows
Our objective is to provide support for those looking to join Wicca wherever they are based in the UK. We have establish dedicated Wiccan based groups around the country and support them through a central organisation. We are non denominational and have initiates of the main Wiccan traditions that are active in the UK in our network.
We currently base our activities around the following cities: Southampton, Brighton, Colchester, London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle and Edinburgh. All of these areas are supported currently, providing a basic level of coverage for most of the UK. We seek ultimately to have a group within an hour's drive of any city or town within the UK with a population of 70,000 or more. Where we have strong organisers we will establish additional local groups.

Our specific goals in relation to the local groups are as follows
- To offer a city group within an hour's drive of any major UK town or city.
- To offer monthly or twice quarterly training across the UK run centrally by Zoom or face to face and backed up through public meetings. The training may be offered face to face with local groups.
- To establish quarterly public meetings for Wiccans in all parts of the UK, based on our network of city groups. These meetings to be held in pubs, coffee shops and other similar venues, and online using Zoom.
- To establish accessible covens in all areas of the UK, based around our city groups and in other areas where organisers are active. This network seeks to facilitate initiation for all seekers into the Wiccan tradition of their choice.
- To support the running of public rites or events on the cross quarters, solstice, equinoxes and Twelfth Night.
- To support regular activities and ritual on Dartmoor which is an important and actively used site for our training and practice.
- To ensure the highest possible number of Wiccans in the ten year census so that the presence of Wicca is recognised.
